A book about the filmmaking process in Rocinha
Designed for two main purposes:

Give an insight into the process of making a film within the unique Rio favela context

Tell important and interesting stories about the lives of people we got to know in Rocinha
Chapters can take the form of diary entries, of themes and of stories. Examples below:

Alan, Puntorrilha, Herbete and other deaths that went unnoticed. Alan was Cintia’s nephew, killed when running from police. Puntorrilha was a guy we filmed many times during the World Cup, often drunk, often on cocaine, but unknown to many was that he also helped his stepdaughter a lot as she was severely disabled. Herbete was one of Italo’s friends who is a in the scene when we say we will lend him and his brother a camera to give us privacy with Vito. He was killed after getting involved with drug-trafficking.

Cintia: Living between the favela and the mansion. The story of Cintia, whose mum is a maid in São Conrado, and who goes between the two worlds of the rich and poor. About how she contracted HIV, her former dreams of becoming a policewoman, her brother Edinho who was a drug-trafficker in City of God favela.
